Company Merging&Acquitisions Negotiation Test Drive

I did a Marketing Experiment today where we had to play out a negotiations meeting where me and this other person would play as representatives of two companies looking to merge together. We would have to negotiate a few agreements of what we wanted that included things like headquarter locations, lay-offs, salaries, etc. We had a chart of how many points certain options would get us and our goal was to get the most points for our individual firms. If we couldn’t come to an agreement a “third-party” would come in and give us each 260 points for the deal.

In the end my counterpart got 290 points and I got 550 points LOL

I am quite proud of myself. It was a very interesting experience. I have to say it would have been more difficult if it was someone who was more confident or stubborn haha well my company got what it wanted :D

I shall look into Merging&Acquisitions!
